Frequently asked questions
What is cold storage?
A long-term archive for projects you’ve already delivered. It costs US$6 per TB per month instead of US$15. Files stay visible on the web and in Finder; to open them, an administrator “wakes up” the project and it goes back to hot storage.
How long does it take to restore from cold?
An hour or less. Each month you can restore up to 5% of what you have in cold storage for free; anything beyond that costs US$10 per TB, and we ask an administrator to approve it before charging.
Why is there a minimum on cold storage?
Anything you move to cold storage is billed for at least 90 days, even if you restore or delete it earlier. It’s our archive provider’s minimum. That’s why it’s best to move work that’s already closed.
How many people can I invite?
As many as you want, on every plan: your team, freelancers and clients. Each person sees only the spaces you share with them, with the permission you give them.
How do I pay?
By card or PayPal in the checkout of Paddle, our authorized reseller. If you prefer, you can also pay through PayPal directly.
Do prices include taxes?
Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes. If you pay through Paddle, Paddle adds your country’s tax (such as VAT) where it applies and gives you the invoice. If you pay through PayPal directly, the sale is made by our company in the United States.
What happens if I don’t pay?
The account becomes read-only: everyone can view and download, nobody can upload. We notify you first and you have 60 days to take everything out; after that, files go to the trash for 90 more days, and paying again in that time brings them back.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. The plan runs until the end of the paid period and doesn’t renew. If it’s your first payment and you change your mind within 14 days, we refund everything: see the refund policy. Read the policy.
Can I take everything with me?
Yes, your files are yours. You can export everything whenever you want: from the web, with OZ Storage for Mac, or with a link’s “Download all”, which downloads a whole folder as a ZIP.
How do I sign in?
No passwords: with a passkey (Touch ID, Face ID or a security key) or with a code we email you. “Continue with Google, Apple or Microsoft” is coming soon.
What can’t I store?
Pirated or illegal content. Links are for delivering work, not for handing out files to the public. The acceptable use policy has the details. Read the policy.
